A Google Pay soundbox on the phone you already own

Google Pay does not sell a soundbox of its own, so most shops that take GPay rely on checking the phone. UPI Alert closes that gap: every Google Pay credit is announced aloud, so you and the customer both hear the amount.

Why GPay shops need this most

Paytm and PhonePe merchants can rent a box. A shop whose customers mostly pay with Google Pay has had no equivalent, which means the phone comes out of the pocket for every payment and arguments about whether a payment went through are common. With UPI Alert, the phone says “500 rupees received on Google Pay” the moment the GPay notification arrives. Your hands stay on the weighing scale.

Setup in three steps

  1. Install UPI Alert and choose your language.
  2. Allow notification access when asked. This is how the app hears Google Pay's “received” notification.
  3. Let it run in the background so the announcement works with the screen off. On Xiaomi, vivo, OPPO and OnePlus phones the setup screen takes you to the extra switch those phones need; see the phone-specific setup guide.

Keep notifications turned on inside Google Pay. The app can only announce what your phone receives.

Not only Google Pay

The same install covers PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, BharatPe, Amazon Pay, CRED, the business versions of the big three, and credit alerts from bank apps such as SBI, HDFC, ICICI, Axis and Kotak. One phone, one voice, every app your customers use.

Use the test alert on the UPI Alert page to hear exactly what the announcement sounds like in your language before you install.

Will it announce payments to my Google Pay Business QR?

Does it slow down Google Pay or the phone?

No. The app only wakes up when a payment notification arrives and plays a short announcement. It does not run anything heavy in the background.
