Privacy Policy — Spendjar

This Privacy Policy explains how the Spendjar app, formerly published as Money Tracker (package com.auspo.money.tracker, the “App”), published by Auspo Apps (“we”, “us”), handles information when you use it.

Information stored on your device

Everything you enter is stored in a local database and local preferences on your device only, and is not sent to us:

• Your ledger — expenses, income and transfers, with their amounts, dates, categories, accounts, notes, descriptions and repeat rules.
• Accounts — names, types (cash, current, savings, credit, emergency, locked), balances and descriptions you give them.
• Categories — including any you rename, recolour or add.
• Budget, bills and goals — your monthly budget, bill amounts and due dates, savings goals, and the pay-cycle and flex-buffer settings behind the safe-to-spend figure.
• Receipts — when you attach a PNG, JPG or PDF to an entry, the App keeps a reference to the file you picked through Android's picker. The file itself stays where it was; the App does not copy it anywhere else or upload it.
• Profile — the name and email address you may choose to type on the Profile screen. They are optional, are used only to label your profile inside the App, and never leave the device.
• Preferences — your country (which sets currency and number formats), theme, and which prompts you have already seen.

Because this data lives only on your device, clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App deletes it permanently. We cannot see it and we cannot restore it. Use Profile → Export records (CSV) to keep your own copy.

Information collected by third-party services

The App includes the following services. All but the last are provided by Google and may collect information automatically when you use the App, under Google's Privacy Policy. Your financial content is never included.

• Google AdMob — shows the banner and occasional full-screen ads that keep the App free. Ads appear only after you have recorded a few entries, and never on the add or edit screens. AdMob collects your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device model and operating system, and information about the ads you are shown and interact with, and may use the advertising identifier to personalise ads. • Firebase Analytics — anonymous usage statistics, such as which screens are used and which features are popular, so we can improve the App.
• Firebase Crashlytics — crash reports with technical details about your device (model, OS version) and what the App was doing when it crashed.
• Firebase Remote Config — fetches settings so we can adjust the App without shipping an update.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging — issues a push notification token for your installation so we can send occasional notifications.
• Firebase Authentication — signs your installation in anonymously. This creates a random identifier for the installation that the analytics and crash services share. It holds no name, email address or other personal detail, and you are never asked to log in.
• Google Play In-App Review — shows the Play Store's own rating prompt inside the App after you have used it for a while.
• Google Play Billing — handles the optional one-time Pro purchase. Google processes the payment under its own terms; the App never sees your card, bank or UPI details.
• RevenueCat — verifies a Pro purchase with Google Play and remembers that your installation has it, so it can be restored on another phone signed in with the same Google account. RevenueCat receives the Play purchase token, a random app user identifier, and your device model, operating system and App version, under RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy. It is the only service in the App not provided by Google.

Permissions the App requests

• Notifications — optional. Used for a daily nudge to record your spending and for occasional messages. You can decline, or turn them off later in your device settings; the App works the same without them.
• Internet and network state — for the services listed above. The App has no server of its own and makes no other network requests.
• Advertising ID — read by AdMob to serve and measure ads.
• Files and photos — the App holds no storage or photo permission. Attaching a receipt and exporting a CSV both go through Android's own pickers and share sheet, which grant access only to the file you choose.

Advertising

The App is free and paid for by advertising; buying Pro, a one-time purchase, removes the ads permanently. Ads may be personalised using your advertising identifier. You can reset or delete that identifier, and opt out of ad personalisation, in your device settings under Settings → Google → Ads. Ads are shown around the App's screens and never contain or receive anything you have recorded.

Exporting and sharing

The only way your ledger leaves the device is Export records (CSV), which you start yourself. The App writes the file and hands it to the app you choose in the share sheet; what happens to it afterwards is governed by that app's own policy.

Children

Spendjar is a general-audience finance tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us at auspoapps@gmail.com and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

• Turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
• Reset or delete your advertising identifier, and opt out of ad personalisation, in your device's Google settings.
• Export your ledger as CSV whenever you like, and delete all App data instantly by clearing the App's storage or uninstalling it.
• Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in the EEA and UK, or the CCPA in California — you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information relating to you. Because we operate no accounts and hold no directly identifying information ourselves, most such requests concern the Google services listed above. Email us and we will help where we can.
• We do not sell personal information.

Data retention and security

We ourselves hold no copy of your content; it exists only on your device. Analytics and crash data held by the services above is retained according to their published policies. All network traffic from the App uses encrypted connections, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the App handles data, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above.
