Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 September 2026
- The app reads payment notifications from supported UPI and bank apps, with your permission, so it can announce them aloud.
- Payment records (amount, payer name, app, time and the notification text), your cashbook entries and a few settings are stored in Google Firebase under an anonymous account, so your reports and history work.
- We use Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Mixpanel and the Meta (Facebook) SDK for usage analytics, crash reports and install attribution.
- Subscriptions are processed by Google Play. We never see your card, UPI PIN or bank details.
- We do not sell your data. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
1. Who we are
AI UPI Alert (the “App”) is published by Auspo Apps (“we”, “us”, “our”). This policy explains what information the App collects, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the App on Android. How the auspoapps.com website itself handles visits is described in our website privacy policy.
For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India), we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Payment notifications (with your permission)
When you grant Notification access, Android lets the App see notifications on your phone. The App processes only notifications from supported UPI, wallet and bank apps (for example Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, BharatPe and bank apps) and ignores all others. From a payment notification it extracts:
- the amount and whether money was received;
- the payer's name, if the notification shows it;
- the source app and the time;
- the notification's title and text.
The announcement itself is generated on your phone by the Android text-to-speech engine.
2.2 Information you enter
- Your shop or display name.
- Up to two UPI IDs, used to create your payment QR code.
- Cashbook entries: cash-in and cash-out amounts, notes and times.
- App settings such as language, announcement sound and mute.
- A rating and optional feedback, if you choose to give one.
2.3 Information collected automatically
- Identifiers: an anonymous Firebase user ID, Firebase installation ID and, for install attribution, the Android advertising ID.
- App activity: which screens and features you use and events such as “payment announced” (including amount, source app and notification text).
- Diagnostics: crash reports and performance data (device model, Android version, app version).
- Subscription status from Google Play (whether you have an active subscription or trial).
2.4 What we do not collect
We do not collect your UPI PIN, bank account or card numbers, passwords, contacts, SMS messages, location, photos or files. The App does not read notifications from messaging, social or other non-payment apps.
3. How we use information
| Purpose | Information used |
|---|---|
| Announce payments aloud | Payment notifications (processed on your phone) |
| Show today's collection, history, cashbook and reports; back them up | Payment records, cashbook entries |
| Create and share your UPI QR | UPI IDs, shop name |
| Keep your settings across reinstalls | Language, sound, mute, name |
| Provide the subscription | Subscription status from Google Play |
| Understand usage and improve the App | App activity, identifiers |
| Fix crashes and keep the App reliable | Diagnostics |
| Measure which ads led to installs | Advertising ID, install events (Meta SDK) |
We process personal data on the basis of your consent — given when you install the App, grant permissions and continue past the in-app explanations — and for the legitimate uses permitted by law. You can withdraw consent at any time (see section 8).
4. Service providers and sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with service providers who process it for us:
| Provider | What it does | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Analytics, Crashlytics) | Anonymous sign-in, storage of your records and settings, analytics, crash reports | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google Play Billing | Subscription purchase and management | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Mixpanel | Product analytics | mixpanel.com/legal/privacy-policy |
| Meta Platforms (Facebook SDK) | App events and install attribution | facebook.com/privacy/policy |
We may also disclose information if required by law, to respond to lawful requests from authorities, or to protect our rights, users or the public.
Some providers may process data outside India. Where they do, it is protected by their contractual and security commitments.
5. Android permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Notification access | To detect payment notifications and announce them |
| Notifications | To show the always-on “listening” notification |
| Foreground service | To keep announcements running while the screen is off |
| Ignore battery optimisation | So Android doesn't stop announcements in the background |
| Run at startup | To resume listening after the phone restarts |
| Internet and network state | To back up records, run analytics and check the subscription |
| Vibrate | Optional vibration with announcements |
| Advertising ID | Install attribution (see section 4) |
You can revoke any permission in Android Settings. The App needs notification access, notifications and background running to work, so it will ask you to set them up again.
6. How long we keep data
- Payment records, cashbook entries and settings are kept while you use the App and until you ask us to delete them.
- Analytics and crash data are kept only as long as needed to improve the App, under the retention settings of the providers in section 4.
- If you uninstall the App without asking for deletion, your anonymous account can no longer be accessed by you; we delete inactive data on request or when it is no longer needed.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and stored on Google Cloud infrastructure with access limited to your anonymous account. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
8. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you can:
- ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or complete it;
- ask us to delete it — see Delete your data;
- withdraw consent, by revoking permissions, uninstalling the App or writing to us;
- nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf;
- raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer (section 11) and, if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
You can reset the Android advertising ID or opt out of ads personalisation in Android Settings → Google → Ads.
9. Children
The App is meant for business owners and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has used the App, contact us and we will delete their data.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App changes. We will post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date and, for significant changes, tell you in the App.
11. Contact and Grievance Officer

- Email: auspoapps@gmail.com

We aim to acknowledge requests within 72 hours and resolve them within 30 days.
